Tennis Elbow and Golfer's Elbow

Author name

Epicondylitis (medial and lateral)

massage to eliminate elbow pain

Epicondylitis refers to one or both bony protuberances at the distal end of the humerus, when the tendinous tissue attached to them becomes inflamed, due to injury, overuse, overloading, or a combination of one or all.

Lateral Epicondylitis or Tennis Elbow is a painful condition affecting the outside of the elbow, or the lateral epicondyle of the humerus, usually the anterior. ""A systematic review identified 3 risk factors: handling tools heavier than 1 kg, handling loads heavier than 20 kg at least ten times per day, and repetitive movements for more than 2 hours per day. Other risk factors are overuse, repetitive movements, training errors, misalignments, flexibility problems, ageing, poor circulation, strength deficits or muscle imbalance and psychological factors." (Lateral Epicondylitis - Physiopedia (physio-pedia.com) viewed 2-2-22).

Medial Epicondylitis refers to the humerus' distal, inner protuberance. Pain may develop quickly, or over long term, sometimes radiating to other areas of the arm.

Whether your epicondylar issues are medial or lateral or both, massage can typically help both with symptoms and a speedier recovery.  Book Here.

Replacement for remedial massage it's not, though combination therapy works surprisingly well.
